Yes. No college for our sons. They’re going to drive monster trucks. The oldest will have a T-Rex truck and the youngest will have a Liopleurodon truck. Oh yes…we can stop saving for tuition.
We went to Monster Jam tonight. They boys loved it. My hubby and I had a really fun time. Sometimes we were laughing with the evening and sometimes we were laughing really near it. Our youngest stared at Grave Digger for a good part of the evening.
He was very excited to be in the same space with Grave Digger.
Our oldest loved El Toro Loco. I am glad to say the driver is a woman!
They also enjoyed the BMX bikers, though I really wish the one guy had worn pants that didn’t show his tighty whities. I told the boys they could learn to do BMX stunts once they could ride without training wheels. Wearing their helmets, of course.
The sportsmanship was solid, except for the Grinder truck that slammed into Grave Digger while doing free style. Grave Digger came mighty close to Grinder during his free style, showing real skill to come within inches but not hit the truck. It clearly takes a lot of skill to drive one of these trucks and safety was definitely a high priority. They do some amazing feats, but the races were, um, brief. Our seats were awesome. We were right next to where the trucks line up. We were also really close to the area where they spin around and cause all the dirt to stir up. Dirt in my hair, mouth, eyes. Good times.
It was a fun night. A new experience. And most of the cars headed south to go home.
